Outdoor Concert Guide

1. Fill up with good food PRIOR to the concert. If you'll be attending an outdoor concert, be prepared for long lineups and crazy costs to buy "food" your dog won't even touch. Before you leave home, down a healthy meal and take some nutrition bars and other filling snacks. You will appreciate the planning on your 6th beer ;o)

2. Clothing is not OPTIONAL. Don't put on your Sunday's best.... wear anything you won't mind getting muddy, bloody, stolen, ripped or soaked with sweat and rain.

3. Memorize the lineup. Nuff said... if there are bands kicking off the show you don't care to see, show up fashionably late. Missing out on the long lineups at the gates.

4. Take only CASH. Take enough cash with you for the day leaving your credit cards and anything else you don't want to lose at home.

5. Necessities of life. Don't forget to pack aspirin, bandages, earplugs, hand sanitizer and the like. Nothing wrong with brining some TP (Toilet Paper).. you laugh now but thankful later.

6. Stake out the real-estate. Memorize the grounds and quick routes to the beer tent, toilets, first aid, etc... not necessarily in that order ;o) Determine a central meeting place upon arrival with your group in case you all get separated or lost after a beer tent visit.

7. Water is your friend. As tough as you think you are, you can't go on alcohol all day and survive. Bring water with you and drink plenty of it... your head with thank you for it in the morning and you won't have to spend the best part of the concert in the First Aid tent with heat exhaustion.

8. "the pit" aka "Amateur UFC" Unless your young, foolish and have something you think you need to prove to the world, avoid "the pit". Nothing against them, if you like to get kicked, punched, clothes tore up and chance a brawl.

9. Enjoy the show. Outdoor concerts are the best. Most importantly have respect for others, eat well, don't drink too much or too fast, hydrate, make new friends, catch up with old ones, see your favorite bands and enjoy the show!
